We decided to start 2010 off right by visiting our Veramonte community park A LOT! It's an amazing thing now to watch Ash enjoy himself by exploring the toys, interacting/playing with other kids spontaneously, and daring to do anything and everything he can! It wasn't 2 years ago that it was the complete opposite. He wouldn't walk across or touch any sand, look or speak at anyone, would cry if he couldn't see Mom or Dad, and scream if I was swinging. Now those are distant memories and we're so grateful for the amazing occupational therapy that has helped him so much! I don't think most moms can appreciate what it is to drop your kids off at the park and just watch from the sidelines while they enjoy themselves until it's time to go home. It's a new reality for us and we're enjoying it immensely. I've learned so far in 2010 not to take anything for granted...not even a visit to the local park.
