In the midst of our trials and tribulations in Surprise, AZ, our hometeacher was a small ray of light. Dan Vantienderen was the most loyal and giving person I'd ever met. He faithfully came to our home each month and went out of his way to present a lesson two ways, one to edify us and another simplified version to enlighten our children. He was a special education teacher and, therefore, very sensitive to what we were going through with Ash. He selflessly offered to keep our lawn mowed and edged for us when life seemed to be caving in around us. It was a simple gesture, but one of grand meaning due to the difficulty Jason had in maintaining it with his back pain. It just goes to prove that it doesn't take a lot of effort to make a huge difference in someone's life. Thank-you Dan!
